I took a bunch of 'macro' pictures of bugs from the CalArts natural history collection for a final project for my class. Here's some of my favorites. The rest will be up on the collection's website in the next week or so.
They kind of remind me of weird monsters from Godzilla or something.

PIRANHAS!
Here's the film I made for this semester's 48 hour film fun fest, foo! It was fun. For some reason youtube always chooses the most boring frame of my films to use as the preview picture for it... I gotta learn how to mess with that. Enjoy. The theme was... Piranhas

Fart Club and documentaries
Here's a comic I made the other day.
Also, here are links to a bunch of documentaries I have watched recently. I would recommend all of them, depending on what you're into. If you have some time... check some out.
• History of Heavy Metal
• History of Video Games
• History of Hacking
• Louis Theroux and the Nazis
• Boystown: Conspiracy of Silence (creepy...)
• The most hated family in America
• Jimi Hendrix's full Woodstock performance
• The ABC's of Sex education for trainables (weird...)
• Louis Theroux - Televangelists
Enjoy wasting your time learning!

Luigi film screening
My short Machinima film "Luigi's Burden" was shown this last friday at a Machinima film screening at Machine Project in LA. Here's an article about the show on CNET.
They used a still from my film in the article, too! Cool. The article says that my film shows "where the genre might be headed". Hmmm... if you haven't seen the film, here it is on youtube.

More Movie Posters
Hey! Instead of posting my own stuff, here's some foreign posters for American films to look at, again. Mostly Polish, again.
GODFATHER II
BLUE VELVET
CAULDRON OF BLOOD (This one's American)
SHORT CIRCUIT 2 (Never even saw it...)
TRADING PLACES (Seems weird at first... but makes sense when relating to the film!)
DUEL (Amazingly simple, yet so true...)
Yeah, some of these are pretty amazing! Soon I may post new, horribly designed movie posters, then my own version of how I would do them. Just to see if I can "walk the walk" or whatever... maybe... have fun!

Polish posters of American films
Look at how amazing these posters are! These are Polish poster designs for when these American films were released in Poland. Totally amazing! Why do they make such interesting poster designs? I don't know. But there are so many amazing Polish movie posters out there. The real question is, why are they sold on ebay for more money than I can spend on a poster? Damn...
JAWS 2. Not as well designed as the American JAWS poster, but it's the IDEA in this one that's amazing. This concept isn't even in the film but it still makes sense for JAWS 2, right? Weird.
ALIENS. I guess "OBCY" is how you say Alien is Polish. I would never know that this was for Aliens, but regardless, it makes me want to see whatever movie it's advertising!
ROCKY. A really interesting idea to visually show the themes of the film without showing Stallone's mug bruised and bulging. Whoever designed this must be some kind of genius.
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. Dark, adventurous, dangerous, and freaking awesome all at the same time! Emphasizes his whip and death, instead of his full body for no reason like in the American poster.
GREMLINS. This is from Romania. Who would have thought that this film was even released in Romania? Totally bizarre, yet fun, funny, and confusing, all at the same time. Kind of like the film actually...
So I just think it's weird that most modern posters for American films are boring, obvious, and seemingly not well thought out. As long as every well - known actor in the whole film is on the poster, somebody in charge is happy, even if it looks like a vaseline dump.
The most powerful and effective American poster I have noticed in a long time is the teaser poster for Snakes on a Plane.
It's mysterious, yet it gets the jist of the film across, and it makes me CURIOUS about the film, which will make me want to go see it. On a last note one of the worst poster designs ever is for that semi - new Adam Sandler movie "Click". It is horrible. Just wanted to throw that in there. More poster posts to come in the future.

Friends and new Friends(?)
Hey. I just gotta say that my friend Cale Ajioka just made one of the coolest comics I have seen in years, litereally. Please go look at it here: http://www.fecalface.com/SF/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=112
Then you can vote for it in this contest - thingy it's in, which I think you should do because it is without a doubt the best one on the site by far! I am not joking. Check it out. Also...
Lloyd Kaufman (President of TROMA entertainment, creator of the Toxic Avenger, and more) was at CalArts tonight! He gave a presentation in my business of film class. He was the one of the nicest, most open people I have met, and one of the sleaziest older men I have met. And I've met my fair share! Nah, just kidding. But it was really awesome, and now I have A BUNCH of leftover pamphlets and TROMA stickers. Does anybody want some?
This guy is amazing, as you can see here.

RRRAAARRRGGG!!!
I finally finished shooting the last shot of my stopmotion film this last weekend! Here's a picture of me attacking the set after I was done. My friend Musa helped me shoot it, and he was freaking awesome. I'm not going to show the whole set, because it's for a really important shot and I don't want to spoil it before people see my film. But here's kind of a sneak preview...
Lots of Queen was listened to during this shoot.
These pictures are from a quick project I shot last semester, about this guy who's really hungry then realizes what he can eat. I'll put it up on YouTube or my website soon.
Here's me acting like the puppet... or is it him acting like me...?!?

Color Comic of Coybergsteinton (?)
Here's a comic I made recently... IN COLOR! Wow, big step. I haven't used color for a while, so I'm trying to get back into it while thinking of some new approaches. I've been kind of obsessively looking at Bill Seinkiewicz's work recently. He is amazing!
The colors are more vibrant in person, but of course I guess they always are.

Some sketchie - detchies.
Here's some drawings I did recently. For the first one I was trying to use different coloring techniques than I normally do with just a black pen. There's also a random scribbly face in there. The second is an elderly gawking lost spaceman with his buddy.
I'll be posting more things on this blog now while I try to organize and create a new website.

Heads for Christmas!
Hey! Back again. After the Mass of Christ, know as Christmas. I made some head - toy - dude thingies for my family for for christmas! They have each been given the gifts of neck bumps, bushy eyebrows, and a "personalized" thingy object on the top o' each head.
I have been naming these guys randomly. The words mean nothing... I mean something.
This is one I just recently made for my girlfriend Winona for her birthday.
It has a real rat skull (kinda modified a bit) on it's head and scragly witch - doctor hair. Anyways, hope you enjoy looking at these things. I want to make a bunch and try to sell them at ComicCon some year. If not this year, then maybe... 2008? We will see.
